The British Racing and Sports Car Club Midland Centre, regret to report the passing of one of the Clubs longstanding stalwarts.
Don Truman passed away suddenly on Wednesday14th September aged 89. Up until recently Don had been an active member of the BRSCC Midland Centre Committee and only in the past few months had decided to step down, due to as he put it “not being able to contribute as much as he would like to”. This came from a gentleman who had contributed to the Club and Motorsport for the past sixty odd years.
Always forthright with his opinions, but with the interests of the Club and the sport at heart, Don was one of the last “characters” we had left. With experience dating back to the fifties, when he was racing, through to his involvement with the organisational side of things there are very few people around with that knowledge who we could call on for advice and guidance.
Our thoughts are with Don’s family at this time.
Goodbye Don.
