Centre Newss

Next Important dates for the Diary

Although we are halfway through the year, there is still a fair few events to come on the Midland Centre calendar.

Next on the list is another visit to Rockingham on the weekend of

12/13th July.

With events for Mighty Mini’s, BRSCC LMA Saloons, Alfas and Pickups on the oval circuit. A good selection of races with hopefully something for all tastes.

On the social front we are firming up the kart event previously mentioned on this site. At the moment, the plan is to hold the event on an evening sometime in late August on the outdoor track at Fradley near Lichfield. Already we have provisional commitments from teams representing Competitors, Senior Officials, and the Centre Rescue Unit. It’s a team event with minimum 4 to a team, with a cost of £65 per team (there’s a limit on the number of teams) Payments are needed “up front” to ensure we can cover the costs of the evening. Full details can be obtained from Keith Jones – see our Centre Contacts page.

On a purely local note we are sad to announce that due to increased family commitment (ie the arrival of his first baby) Ian Ashman has decided that he can no longer devote the time he would like to his work on the Centre Committee, and has reluctantly decided to stand down. As a Centre we would thank Ian for his involvement over the last few years - although we will still see him out and about on racedays as one of our regular Safety Car drivers.
